TruHealth is a new epigenetics-based testing approach that provides DNA methylation (DNAm)-based biomarkers of functional nutritional status and health risk. These biomarkers are referred to as “Epigenetic Biomarker Proxies (EBPs)” which are the newest ways to target the weak areas of each person’s metabolism and physiology to maximize a health and longevity program.

DNA methylation is measured across the genome, from which the methylation patterns are algorithmically translated into EBPs. Several EBPs that have been demonstrated to provide even better health risk prediction value compared to their conventional biomarker counterparts.

NOTE

This new method of epigenomic-biomarker measurement is not a direct replacement for conventional biomarker assessment; however, is a convenient way to infer functional status of various nutrients and health pathways, based on DNA expression (epigenetics). The DNAm-based algorithms and biomarkers correlations were developed and validated by TruDiagnostic using data from over 100,000 patients in the Massachusetts General Brigham (MGB) Biobank. All presented risk scores and percentiles are relative to this cohort. Any abnormal findings should be further investigated with additional testing methods and discussed with a healthcare provider.
