H. Pylori Stool Antigen Fecal Test
Item # LC900012
Check for presence of H. Pylori, a cause of many gastrointestinal concerns.
Heliobacter pylori is a bacterial species that can be found on the stomach mucosa and is a common cause of various symptoms like gastritis, gastric ulcers and other gastrointestinal health concerns.
This FDA-cleared, non-invasive test measures the H. Pylori antigen in stool, checking for presence of this harmful bacterium.
Individuals who harbor the H. pylori are divided into two basic groups: a) colonized and b) infected. Those who test positive for H. pylori yet have no signs or symptoms of gastrointestinal disease are considered "colonized." Those who test positive for H. pylori and present with signs or symptoms of gastrointestinal disease are considered "infected." The process by which a colonized individual becomes infected remains unclear. The process by which an individual becomes colonized is also still under investigation.
NOTE
Test results can be used to identify presence of H. pylori and to monitor response during and after an elimination protocol. Follow up testing should be performed at least four weeks following completion of any protocol to confirm therapeutic success.
The H. Pylori Stool Antigen test is available in combination with a full microbiome, dysbiosis, parasitology, pathogen and digestive function assessment in the GI360 with H Pylori Test, available here: LC100088
