Dear Member,

As 2005 nears its end, we take comfort in knowing that more technology exists to keep us living longer than at any time in history. Life Extension has been at the forefront of these advances. Just this year, we introduced unprecedented numbers of scientific discoveries.

For instance, monkeys and humans are genetically similar but humans live twice as long. One reason may be that people produce twice as much super oxide dismutase (SOD), the enzyme that neutralizes the superoxide free radical. When fruit flies are bred to double the amount of SOD they produce, they live twice as long. Until this year, there was little humans could do to increase production of SOD. Life Extension conducted a human study and discovered that a natural compound could increase SOD and catalase by an average of 38%. Compared to placebo, study subjects who received this compound reported a 71% drop in discomforts associated with normal aging. Life Extension members gained access to this SOD/catalase-boosting compound several months ago.

Atherosclerosis remains the number one cause of disability and death, yet most doctors do not know the underlying cause. Life Extension published research showing that the key to keeping blood flowing through arteries is to maintain the integrity of the endothelium (the inner arterial wall). Life Extension members were the first to gain access to a patent-pending formula designed to maintain endothelial structure and function.

Based on an abundance of positive findings, fish oil has become an enormously popular supplement. Life Extension improved the efficacy of its fish oil by adding sesame lignans and then improved it again by adding an olive fruit extract to provide the vascular benefits of olive oil and a potent olive fruit antioxidant.

Life Extension members found out startling news about maintaining a healthy prostate that no one else knows. We showed that the blood marker PSA (prostate specific antigen) actually promotes prostate problems. We then informed members how to lower elevated PSA by taking a prescription drug (Avodart®). Life Extension then discovered a protective nutrient that showed remarkable benefits in 20 published studies.*

At Life Extension’s research laboratories, scientists made enormous strides in identifying the genes that cause us to age. In 2005, Life Extension funded a record amount of research aimed at developing gene therapies to reprogram us to grow younger. We know that protecting our precious DNA against free radicals is important, but the key to biological longevity may be to find ways to “turn down” genes that cause senescence and to “turn up” genes involved in cellular repair and other life processes. Every time you buy a supplement from the Life Extension Buyers Club, you help support scientific research that might dramatically extend the human life span.

The Super Sale starts November 21, 2005. This annual winter event enables members to obtain state-of-the-art supplements at extra-discounted prices.

In this Life Extension special issue, we introduce a new formula of Life Extension Mix™ that contains a super-concentrated blueberry extract. What makes this extract so special is that it is standardized to provide the most active health-promoting constituents from blueberries. Members will be pleased to learn that this novel blueberry extract has been added to Life Extension Mix™ at no additional cost.

For longer life,
