When a naïve T cell encounters a new threat, it remembers it, becoming a memory T cell. This means we naturally develop a surplus of memory T cells over time.⁴ So to maintain a healthy immune response, we need to support a youthful ratio of naïve to memory T cells, promote healthy naïve T cell production and encourage NK cell activity.

Cistanche

Cistanche increases NK cell activity. In a 12-week clinical study in elderly participants, supplementation with a health food product containing standardized cistanche produced an 11.7% increase in NK cell activity and a 20.2% improvement in the ratio of CD4 to CD8 cells, an indicator of youthful, healthy immune response.⁵
