The Omega-3 Index Plus test measures the following:
Have you ever considered that a fat deficiency may be compromising your health? If you are a typical American, you use dietary targets rather than blood-test goals to track the fats you consume. Consequently, you are most likely deficient in omega-3 fatty acids while consuming too many omega-6s and trans fats… all of which play a role in your overall health as well as strongly influencing cardiovascular risk factors. Unfortunately, eating fish and consuming supplements does not guarantee delivery of crucial Omega-3 fatty acids to important organs and tissues such as your heart, brain, eyes, and joints. Just because you are ingesting omega-3s, it does not mean that your body is actually absorbing them! Requiring one drop of blood, the in-home test kit called the Omega-3 Index can give you an unbiased view of your dietary intake of omega-3s as well as your risk of developing cardiovascular disease.
